Don’t forget mom

In the February 2008 issue of Today’s farmer, there was an omission. In the story Fifty Years of Giving we neglected to mention that Linda Bode was the mother of MFA scholar Michelle Roads. Michelle wrote in to tell us that the MFA scholarship was helpful, but nothing replaces the support of mom. Sorry about the confusion.

Support local youth

I want to commend Mr. Fairchild for an excellent article in the February 2008 Country Corner. I am the City Clerk with the City of Brookfield and am chairperson of the Leadership Task Force, a branch of the Area Growth Partnership.

There are many individuals who voluntarily give their time to invest in a grass roots approach to better our community.

The personalized mailboxes were distributed to the 2007 seniors with heart; we want our students and children to know they are cared for and to call Brookfield their home. We hope that they will return to us and settle here, “back home,” to enhance our community and raise their family.

MFA is to be commended for their dedication and assistance in helping students reach their goals and return home.
