Scholarship thanks
I would like to thank you for the MFA Foundation scholarship. Coming from a farm family, I consider it a great honor to receive a scholarship from MFA and to be sponsored by our local Farmers Exchange at Lowry City. This scholarship money is greatly appreciated and will help pay for the many expenses that accompany the college experience.

Thank you for the generous scholarship. It is because of organizations like MFA that college-bound students can attend school without the worry of large debt upon graduation. I know MFA has awarded thousands of dollars to graduating seniors and I am pleased to be the recipient of this year’s scholarship. I am happy to tell you that I will attend the University of Missouri in Columbia. My major is agriculture systems management. Once I graduate, I hope to come back to DeKalb County and join a growing group of Mizzou alumni.

I thank the MFA Foundation and, in particular, MFA Agri Services, Jackson, Mo., for the scholarship of $2,000. I was thrilled to hear my name called as the recipient of your scholarship. You have no idea how it made my night. You see, my Grandpa, Andrew J. Seyer, Jr., (a lifetime farmer himself) passed away the morning of my graduation after a long week in the hospital battling cancer. It was hard for me and my family to get ourselves together to be in a gym full of people that evening, but I am lucky to have a strong family who was very excited and proud to see me graduate. I can’t begin to tell you how much the scholarship means to my parents and me. I assure you that it will be used to further my education as I begin my studies in agriculture. I’m looking forward to starting college at Mineral Area College.
